Before moving onto Phuket we did enjoy one last look at Bangkok from the 82nd floor of our Hotel – Baiyoke Sky. Being the tallest building in Thailand we were afforded some great views and the sunset looked great.  The mojito was very refreshing especially in the funky surroundings.

One of the interesting street views was the overhead power supply – but that is quite a typical scene.

We flew to Phuket – it only takes an hour and is south of Bangkok.  It took longer to drive from the International airport at Phuket to our resort than it did to fly from Bangkok. The drive is unimpressive – hard to compare anywhere else with the Cairns to Port Douglas drive.

We are at Katathani – The Shores of Serenity – it is a huge resort with many places to explore.  We have found 4 massive swimming pool complexes so far as well as many dining options.

We dined at an Asian buffet last night and not being buffet people normally we were pleasantly surprised at the fabulous quality and variety of delicious food.
