Charleston Day 1

Monday 9th December 2019

We have returned to stay at the Yates-Phillips B&B in the old and very historic quarter of Charleston. After a traditional breakfast of grits we ventured down Meeting Street to meet Michael for our walking tour. His entertaining take of the history and heritage of the city from personal experiences gave us a great insight to our surrounds.

We spent the afternoon exploring the old quarter before wandering back to Church Street for some downtime until the traditional 6pm Charleston drinks on the porch.

Dining out was simple. A stroll up East Bay Street for some pizza and a red from Washington State. Charleston and South Carolina are famous for many things – sadly wine is not one of them.
