These next two days were always going to be subject to prevailing weather conditions. We have the Great Smokey Mountains to cross and if we encounter a cold blast which brings the snow we would have to find an alternative route around the mountains to Nashville. As it turns out the big system of the past 24 hours has broken up so we are driving to Asheville in the Smokey Mountains.
We stopped off for a coffee in Clinton – Jitters Cafe at Elaine’s on the Square.

Champagne Book Bar
We have checked into a downtown hotel in Asheville and enjoyed a drink in a book exchange – the Champagne Book Bar before dining at Carmel’s
